The Fool

This wild card marks the beginning of the journey towards your true self and towards new beginnings.

Tradition speaks of a gullible beginner who is somehow "deceived" or "fooled" as they set out on the path to reason. It is a sacred journey, both inner and outer, one you will forge yourself with only your instincts to guide you. Fools are often prophets.

Purity, innocence, foolish love, blindness to the truth, folly. The Fool brings a childlike enthusiasm for life. It is the part of us that awakens when we fall in love or long for adventure – the child or fool within who acts without thinking and has no fear of the unknown. The Fool points to an intuitive choice: follow your heart. It is a symbol that anything in life is truly possible, and it tells us it is better to be led by faith than to fear any choice. It can also be the feeling of being stuck with nowhere to go – or a sign that it is time to stop so as not to fall off the cliff, and to leave the past behind.
