Once you meet the heroine Claire, she will draw you into a story you will never want to leave.

From book to three Golden Globes and the “Most Exciting New Series” award at the Critics' Choice TV Awards.
When the series Outlander burst onto television screens in 2014, it immediately won the hearts of millions of viewers. Its plot is based on an equally successful book series that combines elements of various genres – historical fiction, romance, science fiction, fantasy, mystery and adventure. The author of the beloved eight-volume cycle of novels is the American writer Diana Gabaldon.
Loyalty or desire?
It is 1945, and Claire Randall, a former army nurse, has just returned from the war to be reunited with her husband and set off on a second honeymoon. But while exploring one of the ancient stone ruins scattered all over the British Isles, she touches one of the menhirs (stone blocks set upright in the ground, found all over the world, usually with no signs of working). Claire is catapulted back in time by forces she does not understand. Suddenly she is a Sassenach – an outlander – in a Scotland torn by war and clan raids along the border, in the year of our Lord 1743. She finds herself amid the intrigues of lairds and spies. Some of them may be after her life, others after her heart. For it is here that she meets James Fraser, a gallant Scottish warrior who showers her with boundless love. Claire will have to choose between loyalty and desire: either return to the present or stay in the past.
Will there be a season 6?
You can watch this epic story of two lovers from different periods of history on Netflix in 5 seasons. As the series is a huge success all over the world, the American TV channel Starz has already aired the fifth season.
- The fifth season was based on Diana Gabaldon's fifth novel, The Fiery Cross, and also on the sixth book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes.
- The series is set during the American Revolutionary War, when the colonies broke away from their imperial rulers.
- This season will apparently be emotional – the actors reportedly burst into tears at the screening of the first episode.

But let us go back in the story to season 3.
The heroine Claire has returned to 1948. She is pregnant and, given what she has been through, finds it hard to cope with the consequences. Her experiences also complicate her relationship with her first husband, Frank. Meanwhile, in the 18th century, Jamie pays the price for the last desperate attempt to stand alongside his fellow Scottish Highlanders against the English crown in the lost-in-advance Battle of Culloden. He unexpectedly survives, but suffers from having lost everything – above all his beloved Claire. The years pass and Claire and Jamie try to learn to live without each other. Yet they cannot rid themselves of thoughts of their lost love. When a chance appears that she could get back to the past to her Jamie, Claire gains new hope. But new doubts creep into her heart too. Claire and Jamie are separated by centuries and continents. Will they find their way to each other? As always, adventures, secrets and dangers await them on their journey. If they meet again, will they still be the same people who had to part twenty years ago at the mystical magic stones?
